Job Title: Finance Administrator / Executive / Sales Ledger Administrator 
Hours of work: 8:30am – 5:30pm 
Location: Hereford
Salary: 20-25k

Position summary

To support the senior members of the team and support the Finance function of the practice through completion of day-to-day duties which contribute to the smooth running of the finance department and ensure client satisfaction and compliance with all sector rules.

Organise and streamline accounts payable and receivable, maintain documentation and records proficiently to ensure correctness and promptness of deliverables. You will handle and resolve enquiries regarding billing problems and disputes and keep spreadsheets for reconciliation purposes. 

 Duties

  • To support other members of the team with general financial admin
  • Monitor and update Calendars based on upcoming work and ensure no deadlines are missed
  • Ensure that incoming post for the department is scanned and distributed correctly
  • Being a point of contact for incoming calls to the department, taking accurate messages and ensuring that the appropriate individual returns the call
  • Handling client enquiries and payments both face to face and by telephone
  • Keeping financial records up to date
  • Raise sales invoices for external and internal customers, reconcile sales ledger and ensure that payments are received for all monies outstanding in a timely way
  • Maintain accurate credit control records and chase clients accordingly
  • Opportunity to progress into higher level roles
  • Adhere to any rules or and regulations specific to the business
  • Assist with processing Pay runs and Payments
  • Work accurately towards strict targets and deadlines

Person specification

  • AAT or Experience within a Finance role;
  • Experience of working in a finance environment;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative;
  • A positive approach to working under pressure in a busy environment;
  • Ability to work as part of a team; 
  • Working knowledge of the finance function is essential.
